How do I know if the mouse left my room? Do they just stay somewhere quietly or move?

Yes the mouse is still in the hous and believe me when I say that they LOVE playing the waiting game. Few days ago i saw myself a mouse under my stove but when it saw me it ran for cover but I haven't seen it since but I know it's still there somewhere running and eating my dog's food.
