I have Painting problems?

Last night I was painting the kitchen wall and had quite a fall. I was on the top of a 6 foot ladder and one of the ladder legs broke and I fell to the ground. I have a few bruises, but, luckily, that's all. Sadly, the paint went EVERYWHERE. I cleaned it up off the floor and kitchen stools, but I can't get the splatter off the fireplace bricks. I've tried everything. The paint is water soluable, I think. I've used water, dish scrubber, toothbrush. Then I resorted to mineral oil and paint thinner. Neither of those did a thing. Then I even put some paint remover on and tried to scrub it off. That didn't work either. Anyone have any suggestions, or have I just made things worse. Since I'm a 64 year old little old lady, I think this might just be my last painting project. :(
